It is winter. Yes. And Metal Scapegoat has been hibernating, wise thing to do, since it was so darn cold here. No goat can do much when it is -30 and below. So cold air slowed brain activity to minimum, and I enjoyed the darkness under a blanket, listened metal but otherwise, hibernated.
Of course things have happened here and it has been pretty busy too, but the best part is the lair I now have. There, after few weeks of waiting , I listened the new album of Nightwish in total peace. I had Imaginaerum on my table a week or two before I felt the time is right to listen it. So, when it was dark late at evening, I crawled to my lair and in dim light put player on.
And at this point I have to say, I did not listen any samples or singles or anything before I listened the whole album. To me it worked, for I really think this time any song taken apart of the whole story there, gives no justice to song. But it was not easy to do, luckily I didnt have to go to any big supermarkets where radio is on. Few times in car if radio was on I had really rush to get CD on since Storytime was about to start there or was going on already...
When I started to listen the album and first song was sang in finnish by Marco, it really calmed thoughts away from everything else. My lair was great choise to listen it, no sound or noise reaches there, si I could easily swim in the flow the music caused there.
First I was really surprised, and amused as well. There was few really surprising elements on some songs, but also something really touching. All and all, the album is really great, and touching, interesting and I am sure it reaches more people and gives everyone something special.
Ghost River is my favourite on that album, for some reason it gives me creeps. I often have that album on when do my daily works. And Song of Myself gives us all something to think of. Genious.
Also, in these slow cold months I have listened much more new bands to me, but I will tell of those more later. Now, slowly waking from this sleep, goat needs to get warm first...
